Reporting a problem with a stop

The fastest way to fix a hike is to tell someone while you are standing there.

Hikes age. A building gets demolished, a path closes, a museum changes its hours, and the description stops matching the ground.

While you are walking

Every stop in trail mode has a feedback button. It is already tied to the stop you are looking at — you do not pick it from a list. Describe what is wrong and send it. No account needed.

From the hike page

The hike page has the same form, where you choose which stop you mean, or report something about the hike as a whole.

What happens next

It reaches whoever maintains that hike. They can accept it, decline it, or mark it applied, and reply. If you were signed in you can see the status of suggestions you have raised.

Reports that look like spam can be hidden by an admin. A hidden report never reaches a maintainer and never counts against them.

Why it matters beyond one fix

A maintainer who ignores genuine reports for a long time can eventually lose the hike to someone willing to look after it — see Maintaining a hike. Your report is part of how that gets noticed.
